Drive shafts made by Walterscheid

The name Walterscheid stands for the development and innovation of agricultural driveline systems. Our designs of PTO drive shafts, overload and overrunning clutches and tractor attachment systems point the way ahead.

The development and production of high-quality PTO drive shafts for use in agriculture is part of Walterscheid's core competence. For more than 50 years, Walterscheid has ranked among the world's leading manufacturers and continuously developed all of their components further. Today, the drive shaft made by Walterscheid is composed of components with the highest quality which can be configured in such a way that they will meet all necessary requirements perfectly. Our products are suitable for applications ranging from small, economical solutions utilised in standard applications to high-performance combinations intended for continuous use and needed to deliver the highest possible drive power. We offer different series that are suitable for different application profiles.

Drive shaft designs
Designs series P series PWE series PWZ

We recommend using different cardan joint designs depending on the desired application:

  • Standard design (series P, series W, and series W..E)
  • Wide angle design on one side (series PWE and series WWE)
  • Wide angle design on two sides (series PWE and series WWE)

Universal joint drive shafts available in the designs

Since a normal cardan joint may not be bent beyond a minimal angle, it is most suitable for operation with the joint elongated. If you need to drive around wider angles, you will find that wide angle synchronised drive shafts provide a better solution.

Series P

Series P

Series PWE

Series PWE

Series PWZ

Series PWZ

These designs are available with one or two wide angle joints. The design featuring a wide angle synchronised drive shaft on one side (PWE or WWE) is the right solution if the position of one joint is primarily elongated and the other joints need to be flexible.

When dealing with wide and disparate deflection angles in both joints and drive shaft connections that are greatly offset from one another, you will be on the safe side when using a wide angle synchronised drive shaft on two sides (PWZ or WWZ).

Series W (standard)

Series W (standard)

The high-quality drive shaft for use in agriculture

The W series is the perfect drive shaft for all agricultural applications.

The W series is perfectly sized for simple as well as heavy-duty drive requirements. It sets itself apart by its rugged design and offers great reliability during daily use. All components built into the drive shafts of the W series can easily be swapped in order to increase the drive shaft's ease of use or in case parts need to be replaced.

Series P

Series P (Power Drive)

The powerful alternative capable of meeting the highest requirements!

The P series includes the most powerful drive shafts Walterscheid makes. They are designed for continuous heavy-duty use and, thus, match the requirement profile of large farms and contractors. Well-thought-through features make the Power Drive the high-end solution when it comes to handling, economy and safety.

Our Walterscheid ServicePlus System allowed us to minimise maintenance costs even further as we managed to raise the maintenance intervals for the Power Drive universal shafts to up to 250 hours depending on the maintenance class.

Series W..E

Series W..E (Ecoline)

The series W..E features the most affordable models equipped with Walterscheid technology.

The series W..E is sized to fulfil simple drive requirements. It is, therefore, made up of components that are designed to meet these requirements. Many of the components built into the drive shafts of these series can be replaced for spare parts without a problem.
